Dam Šance

Reservoir on the Ostravice pod Bilou river. It has been finished in 1970 and its dam is 65 meters high and 342 metres long. The lake is 333,5 ha large and the depth is 62,5 meters. The village Stare Hamry and the railway line dissapeared under the water level. It is a panty of drinking water, so it is not a recreation place at all. The name Sance (chance) is by the ruins of defences on a peak southward of reservoir’s wall.
